The Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has denounced the Spanish Agency for Food and Nutrition Security (AESAN) up to 11 online food supplements that announce slimming effects for irregularities in their allegations and, in one of them, for being adulterated with Ephedrine.
In total they have been analyzed 22 products, and of the 11 denounced The most common problem, observed in 7 accessories, are the alleged weight loss of botanical species they contain, a practice not admitted by AESAN itself as they are allegations under study and pending approval by the European Commission.

For example, “Garcinia contributes to the control of weight and appetite.”
Another problem common are allegations incomplete, which obviates the ingredient that could justify them, a practice observed by OCU in Befit of Healthy Fusion and Drenasim of Balance Nutrition; such as “eliminates body fat.” Or the invented allegations, which do not appear in the European Registry of Allegations, detected in Carbohydrates of Q77+ and in Natuslim de Natusure; such as “folate is essential for the proper functioning of energy metabolism.”
But also the allegations directly not authorized in this registry, which include goodbye rapid of Healthy Fusion and, again, Carbohydrate blocker of Q77+; such as “chromium promotes metabolism and contributes to weight control.”
In the same analysis, the Consumer organization And users detected a problem if it can be more serious, already denounced, such as the presence of ephedrine in the Fasterdetox complement, an active substance of exclusive use in medicines that can cause hypertension and arrhythmias.
The OCU considers Evil Use of health allegations in food supplements allegedly thinning and thus has been transmitted to AESAN to correct it, open the mandatory sanctioning files and, in collaboration with the CCAA, prevent these products from being offered on Spanish websites.
While urgent to the European Commission to decide on the authorization of more than 1,500 health allegations of different botanical species, many of which can be found in these supplements, and that is pending since 2012.
