Although the world’s main cryptocurrencies have been operating at a low since the beginning of 2022, the number of remote workers receiving crypto assets grew from 2% to 5% between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. The information is from Deel, a company of payment services.
The company consulted the contracts of more than 100,000 professionals and found that two-thirds of these payments were made in Latin America. The survey pointed out that the number of workers in Argentina who receive cryptocurrencies is higher than the average and the explanation may be the inflation of more than 60% per year in the country.

Bitcoin lost ground from last year and accounted for less than half of payments, down from two-thirds in 2021.
Another data revealed by the survey showed that Italian remote workers had the highest average salary increase in a year, 175%, followed by Brazil, India and Nigeria. In relation to the main cities in terms of number of workers hired remotely, London (England), Toronto (Canada) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) occupy the first positions.
