The number of migrants detained at the US border has increased

About 1.82 million immigrants have been arrested by border patrol agents since October 1, 2021when the current fiscal year of the federal government began.

In July almost 200,000 detentions of migrants were registered. 67% of all detainees were single adults; there were 13,299 arrests of unaccompanied children.

Since January 2021, when Joe Biden became president of the United States, more than 1,000 migrants have lost their lives trying to cross illegally into the United States, according to a report by the Reuters agency.

Last year alone, 728 migrants died or were reported missing.more than double that in 2015, according to ‘Reuters’.

The number of Colombian migrants also grew in the last year, since almost 100,000 people have been arrested by the authorities.
