The number of hospitalized people after smoke in the Listvyazhnaya mine in Kuzbass increased to 58. This was announced on Saturday, November 27, by local authorities.
Earlier that day, it became known that the number of hospitalized mine rescuers in the Kemerovo region had grown to 15. It was clarified that all the injured rescuers followed the same route to search for the missing miners.
On the morning of November 25, smoke started to appear at the Listvyazhnaya mine. The accident killed 51 people. In total, there were 285 people in the mine.
On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence”), as well as a criminal case on the fact of negligence of employees of the Rostekhnadzor department.
On November 27, Rostekhnadzor inspector Vyacheslav Semykin was arrested for two months. He will stay under arrest for two months – until January 26, 2022.
In addition, charges were brought against the director of the enterprise, Sergei Makhrakov, his first deputy, Andrei Molostov, head of the site, Sergei Gerasimenko, and chief state inspectors of the Belovsky territorial department of the Siberian department of Rostekhnadzor, Sergei Vinokurov. The investigation intends to petition for the arrest of all the accused.
According to the RF IC, the gas-dynamic phenomenon with the subsequent smoke of the ventilation drift in the mine occurred due to violations of industrial safety requirements at production facilities made by Makhrakov and his subordinates. Vinokurov and Semykin improperly fulfilled their duties of supervising compliance with industrial safety requirements at the facility.
