Since it was installed in 2016 to make people’s lives easier with its instant payment system, Bizum has become everything with a success, with more than 15 million users and 370 million operations. For this reason, many taxpayers and workers could have accepted with total normality the message sent by Social Security to receive their benefits through Bizum. However, the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations has clarified on its social networks that “Social Security does NOT use Bizum to enter benefits”, Thus warning users that these messages could be a scam. “If you receive a call, SMS or email in that sense, do not open it”, recommends.
Methods for the payment of pensions
The main method used by Social Security for the payment of benefits and pensions is the wire transfer to the account that the taxpayer contributes when requesting them. However, the pensioner can make a change of bank entity or payment partner at any time, being effective from the first business day of the second month following in which the change request was made. In total, Social Security indicates on its website which pensioner can choose between three payment methods:
– Via financial entities such as banks, savings banks and rural banks or credit cooperatives. The income is made both in current accounts or restricted savings books and in ordinary savings books.
– Via social graduates, prior communication to financial entities.
– Through the administrators of Social Security pensioners’ residences.
In case the pensioner is abroad, the institution explains that the money will be paid “for the means of payment and through the procedures that each country has established for the payment of the benefits of its Social Security system to its beneficiaries ”. In addition, “exceptionally, the cash payment in some special case, duly accredited and once authorized by the managing entity ”.
