Molleindustria has launched a new, highly provocative free game. Is called The New York Times Simulator and essentially allows you to manipulate news headlines to please some powers that influence the newspaper and that can make it successful or ruin it: the police force, rich people (hence capitalism) and the Israelis.
A political game
The New York Times Simulator is the remake of The Republic Times by Lucas Pope (the author of Papers, Please and Return of the Obra Dinn). Basically the player must create the front page of the newspaper by modifying the titles so as not to anger the three powers mentioned above and at the same time must be able to accumulate readers. Note that Molleindustria has selected thousands of real news stories for the headlines in The New York Times Simulator.
On a more mundane note, a match lasts about ten minutes, so you can try it without fear of having to leave a session halfway through.
