The EU listed the names of Russian entrepreneurs who fell under the sanctions
The European Union (EU) will impose sanctions on 14 Russian entrepreneurs and heads of the country’s largest companies. Their names listed on the official website of the European Union.
In particular, Andrey Melnichenko (SUEK coal exporter, EuroChem fertilizer manufacturer), Dmitry Pumpyansky (TMK, Sinara), Alexander Vinokurov (Magnit), Vadim Moshkovich (Rusagro), Dmitry Mazepin (Uralchem/Uralkali) and his son Nikita, Andrey Guryev (CEO of PhosAgro), Mikhail Poluboyarinov (CEO of Aeroflot), Dmitry Konov (Chairman of the Board of PJSC SIBUR Holding), Mikhail Oseevsky (Head of Rostelecom) and others.
It is indicated that they were present at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, the day the special military operation in Ukraine began. According to EU officials, these oligarchs and company heads are members of Putin’s inner circle, “support or carry out actions or policies that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as stability and security in Ukraine.”
The imposition of sanctions by the European Union against 14 major Russian businessmen and members of their families became known earlier on March 9. The restrictive measures also affected 146 Russian senators who approved mutual assistance agreements with the Donetsk Luhansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR).
In total, personal sanctions affect 862 individuals and 53 organizations. They are banned from traveling to the EU, and their assets in the territory of the EU countries are frozen.
