The murder of a diplomat’s daughter in Pakistan has led to protests in several cities in the country, as well as among the Pakistani diaspora in Canada and the United States.
It is about the tragedy that took place in a house located in the elite district of Islamabad, where the body of the beheaded 27-year-old Nur Mukadam was found on July 20.
In the murder, the girls are suspected of being a representative of one of the richest families in Pakistan, Zahir Jaffer, who is also a US citizen. He was detained on July 24 in his own home, and he confessed to the murder, saying that he had dealt with the girl because of her betrayal.
In Pakistan, protesters created a spontaneous memorial, to which they brought photographs of the deceased girl, as well as candles and flowers. In the United States and Canada, representatives of the Pakistani community also demanded that Jaffer be punished. Protesters carried posters calling for attention to cases of domestic violence.
According to the investigation, the American knew Nur Mukadam and invited her to his home, where he was forcibly held for two days. The girl tried to escape from the man through the window on the first floor, but she could not do this.

Earlier, on July 28, investigators gave details of the 2010 murder of his wife by nephrologist Alexander Zemchenkov from St. Petersburg.
