Supporting business projects with a social theme is the main objective of the new program launched by the Murcia City Council and the Entrepreneurship Office of the University of Murcia (UMU), UMU Emprende. The two entities come together, as explained by municipal sources, to offer an intensive course that will provide entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and knowledge to create businesses that are not only profitable, but also generate a positive social impact.
The Councilor for Open Government, Economic Promotion and Employment of the Consistory, Mercedes Bernabé, explains that “participants will learn through five sessions how to identify social problems, develop sustainable business models, seek financing, plan marketing campaigns with social impact and the measurement of results. This program is part of the Municipal Employment and Economic Promotion Plan 2024-2027, an action that aims to promote new business ideas while promoting the social economy.
Project presentation
UMU Emprende launches this training offer in line with the sustainable development objectives, very useful for its incorporation into company plans and business models.
Registration is open until the 21st through the University website
The team of the company Digital Marketing Agency with Impact will be in charge of providing the training between April 22 and 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. online. The program will culminate with the presentation of social entrepreneurship projects, providing practical experience and valuable feedback. Registration is open until April 21 for anyone interested in the world of social entrepreneurship and can be done through the website www.um.es.
Attendees also address the search for financing and marketing campaigns
Bernabé emphasizes that “the municipality stands out for its entrepreneurial activity and training actions like this, which help the promoters of these business ideas to be as well trained as possible.” An example of this, says the Councilor for Open Government, Economic Promotion and Employment, is the business project competition, “which this year celebrates its 32nd edition, and which has awarded more than 361 initiatives.”
