The neighbors disagree on the suitability of the dissuasive disappearing from under the highway, in which they have been able to park up to 150 vehicles
Yesterday, a bittersweet sensation invaded the residents of the neighborhood of the Barriomar park and ride, located under the A-30 motorway, which since yesterday has closed its entrance and prohibits the parking of vehicles. “And now, where are we going to park?” was the question that the Local Police agent stationed at the scene had to hear the most times. Meanwhile, others who passed by applauded its disappearance and, above all, that it could become a place with green spaces, for leisure, and more light.
“At certain times we were afraid to go through here,” commented Juan, who also considered that “it was about time they did something for the neighborhood.” And Paqui added: “Let’s see when they remove these containers and make us bigger than they promised us two years ago.”
The crane had to be used thoroughly to remove the cars that did not pay attention to the signage that the City Council put up on Friday, whose discs warned of the prohibition to move away from yesterday, Monday. In this dissuasive parking there was capacity for about 150 vehicles.
Five of these retired cars were abandoned, some still with their license plates (one, specifically from France, which served as a ‘home’ for a homeless person); and another that although it did not have the plates, the Police were able to determine that it came from Germany. There was no evidence that they had been stolen.
The entrances have already been closed with the placement of large planters.
