Adeslas, Asisa and DKV have decided not to participate in the tender for the concert to provide health care within the scope of Muface, the civil servants’ mutual benefit, as announced by the companies in separate statements.
These three insurers were the only ones providing healthcare through Muface in the last concert.
For his part, Adeslas has decided that he will appear at the concerts of the Justice (Mugeju) and Army (Isfas) officials. In these two mutual societies, the beneficiaries reach a total of 650,000 beneficiaries.
“With this decision, Adeslas maintains its commitment to the administrative mutualism system for those mutual societies that make it sustainable, due to the benefits it offers to civil servants and their families and the advantages it represents for the entire Spanish health system,” explains the insurance.
DKV’s decision is not to run for either Muface or Mugeju. In the statement informing of its decision, the insurer details that it would have losses of 77 million euros in two years, almost the same as in the previous agreement, which lasted three years.
The company assures that the model is underfinanced, since the cost of medical benefits in the last concert has been more than 10% higher than the premium it has received.
For his part, Asisa has decided to only attend the Isfas and Mugeju concerts, so he will also avoid the Muface one.
On October 8, the Government put out to public tender the new agreement of the three mutual societies with an increase in the premium of 17.12%.
The Government’s first offer to the insurers was an increase in premiums of 14%, something insufficient for them and after which they threatened to walk away from the negotiation and drop the agreement. They asked for a 40% increase so as not to worsen their losses.
