The Moldovan authorities wanted to ensure order in the elections with the help of peacekeepers
The Moldovan authorities wanted to ensure order in the country’s presidential elections with the help of peacekeepers. The corresponding document from the Moldovan delegation was sent by the co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) from Moldova, Sergei Golovach, reports RIA Novosti.
Thus, Chisinau asked representatives of Ukraine and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission to the JCC, as well as representatives in the Joint Military Command, to assist in maintaining law and order on the day of voting for the President of Moldova. It is clarified that the help of peacekeepers is required in Vadul lui Voda, Varnita, Kopanka, Hadzhimus, Khirbovets and other settlements.
Elections in Moldova will be held on October 20 in parallel with the referendum on the country’s accession to the European Union (EU).
Earlier it was reported that Moldova had reduced the number of polling stations in Russia to two. They will be opened on the territory of the republican embassy in Moscow.
