Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, together with the Ministry of Transport, is actively working to solve the logistical problems that have arisen in all industries, putting pharmaceutical products as a priority. On Wednesday, March 9, Izvestia was informed in the departments.
It is emphasized that an operational headquarters has been created under the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to resolve logistics issues, work is underway to search for alternative logistics operators, new supply corridors. According to available information, some manufacturers have already managed to revise the usual supply chains and arrange the supply of the necessary substances and consumables.
In addition, the departments monitored the stocks of medicines and raw materials necessary for their production in relation to. As a result, it was revealed that in Russia there is an annual supply of medicines from the list of Vital and Essential Drugs. Moreover, for most items, the stock of finished products exceeds 25% of the total annual sales for 2021.
From the point of view of financial support for pharmaceutical industry enterprises, the Industry Development Fund continues its work, within which there are more than 10 loan programs, the most relevant of which for pharmaceutical industry enterprises can be: “Development Projects”, “Leasing Projects”, “Component Products” , “Priority projects”.
Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that Russian pharmacies noticed a temporary shortage of imported insulin, as well as medical products for the treatment of diabetes. As noted in the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations, this happened due to the rush demand of consumers.
According to Petr Rodionov, General Director of Geropharm, the pharmaceutical manufacturer is ready to meet 100% of the demand in the Russian Federation, but now another problem has arisen – this is the pricing policy. The company is preparing a statement to the Federal Antimonopoly Service with a request to index prices for insulin. At the same time, Rodionov assured that there would be no big increase in prices for patients, and insulin would still be available.
Earlier, on March 8, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on a temporary ban on the export of medical devices from the country supplied by countries that joined the anti-Russian sanctions. It is noted that this decision will prevent a shortage of medical devices in the country due to the restrictive measures imposed by unfriendly states.
On March 4, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko said that Russia had formed significant stocks of medicines. To date, the situation with drugs in the country is stable, he said. The department also assured that Russia has a sufficient supply of medicines, including medicines from the list of vital and essential ones.
On March 1, the director of the SRO Association of Independent Pharmacies, head of the Alliance of Pharmaceutical Associations, Victoria Presnyakova, told Izvestia that wholesalers had raised purchase prices for pharmacies from 1.5 to 25%, depending on the region. At the same time, according to her, growth is observed both for imported and Russian drugs. Prices for vital and essential medicines remain unchanged.
Western sanctions were imposed after Russia launched an operation to protect civilians in the Donbass on February 24. A few days earlier, the situation in the region escalated significantly due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics announced the evacuation of residents to the Russian Federation, and also turned to Moscow for help.
