The Ministry of Defense has published footage of the work of specialists from the airmobile medical detachment of the Airborne Troops (VDV) of the Russian Federation during a special operation to protect Donbass. This became known on Friday, October 7th.
From the first day of the special operation, this medical unit of the Airborne Forces has been providing medical assistance to injured servicemen, as well as to the local population of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR).
The detachment is equipped with the equipment necessary to provide specialized surgical care in case of severe injuries, as well as to provide qualified assistance in case of minor injuries or diseases.
The staff includes operating surgeons, traumatologists, neurosurgeons and ophthalmologists who, during their work in the SVO, have accumulated a lot of practical experience and continue to help military personnel who risk their health and life to protect the country.
“We have tremendous experience in providing medical care, since the first day of the special military operation we have been side by side, shoulder to shoulder with our brothers in arms, who successfully carry out the tasks assigned to them as part of the Airborne Forces,” shared the commander of the medical detachment Airborne Yuri Bravko.
He also noted that most often military personnel enter the medical unit with combat injuries, including those with explosive wounds, explosive injuries, gunshot wounds and explosive injuries. Received fighters receive medical care in full, and then, if necessary, and their condition has stabilized, the wounded are evacuated to a further stage of treatment in the rear.
“We are stabilizing seriously ill patients who cannot be taken to the hospital located in the rear. If the paramedics understand that they will not take the patients, they bring them to us, and we stabilize them, and then send them to the rear, ”said Vitaly Kamardin, a traumatologist.
Earlier, on October 6, the Ministry of Defense showed the training of those mobilized in different regions of Russia. On the footage, volunteers and citizens called up as part of partial mobilization undergo combat training and coordination at the training grounds.
On October 4, it became known that the demand for first aid supplies has been growing for the second week in a row. Pharmacies are dismantling products to stop blood, iodine and car first-aid kits.
Partial mobilization in Russia was announced on 21 September. The decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader noted that the decision was made, among other things, to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
