Vostok military met with residents of Vugledar who were hiding in basements
The Ministry of Defense showed footage of a meeting between the Vostok military group and residents after the liberation of Vugledar. Relevant personnel were available RIA Novosti.
Thus, one of the city residents said that she hid for two years and seven months in the basement of a local school. According to her, there are 16 people in this shelter. “I used to live here, in the blue house, but in 2022 I had to let myself down a little. I didn’t want to leave,” she complained.
At the same time, another resident of Ugledar noted that in 2022, with the start of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), 450 people were hiding in the basement. After a while, many left.
At the moment, more than a hundred civilians remain in the basements of residential buildings. Vostok military personnel provide assistance to them.
Ex-adviser to former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma Oleg Soskin predicted a military mutiny in the country due to the loss of Ugledar. The expert said that the deliberate destruction of the 72nd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city, which was allowed by the head of state Vladimir Zelensky, became a lesson for other military personnel.
