Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesman for the health sector in the country, announced that, based on the developments in the epidemiological situation and the decrease in the number of infections in the country, it was decided to change the periodicity of the briefing for the UAE government on the developments of the new Corona virus “Covid-19” to become every two weeks.
She stressed, during a media briefing to the UAE government on the developments of the “Corona emerging” virus, that the UAE is working, under the directives of the rational leadership, to enhance the efficiency of the health sector in the country, by providing health and treatment services, taking preventive measures and combating epidemics and diseases.
She said: “The concerned authorities are working to achieve sustainable development of health care, in addition to implementing strategic policies and standards related to the public health sector, health and preventive care, and setting up legislation related to the development of the health sector in the country.”
She added: “Through a professional approach in dealing with the pandemic, the state was able to develop a scientific and practical plan of action that is one of the most successful global models in managing the crisis and limiting its repercussions, as well as continuing anticipation and foresight by intensifying the scope of examinations throughout the country aimed at investigating and limiting the spread of the pandemic.” and mitigate its effects on the community.
Dr. Farida Al-Hosani stated that the health sector is continuing its efforts to provide vaccines to groups eligible to receive vaccination, as the percentage of those receiving the first dose of the total population reached 100 percent, while the percentage of recipients of two vaccine doses was 95.21 percent of the total approved population census.
She stressed that vaccines are currently the most important way out of this pandemic, and providing them is a global scientific achievement, and their presence sufficiently and free of charge for citizens and residents of the country is a commendable work and effort.
She called on all eligible individuals to go to the nearest vaccination center to take the vaccine and the booster doses and to communicate with the health authorities for more information and to get an appointment to take the vaccine, stressing that the successes achieved by the UAE in the battle to control the “Covid-19” virus pandemic were behind a rational leadership that believes With the importance of work, achieving leadership and providing the best, as all sectors work in cooperation with the health sector to their maximum potential through continuous analysis of the epidemiological situation locally and globally, the impact of changes, and the development of expected scenarios and methods of immediate response.
She explained that the concerned authorities periodically evaluate decisions and procedures, in order to ensure that they keep pace with the health situation, to come up with recommendations and supportive measures in a timely manner, and to provide information to members of society with transparency and provide them with updates on a periodic and proactive basis. Dr. Farida Al Hosani stressed the importance of community members’ commitment and adherence to all precautionary decisions and measures, which is one of the most important factors supporting national efforts and the health and safety of individuals, thus strengthening the community’s immunity and protection.
She added, “We call upon members of society to cooperate and adhere to preventive measures to confront (Covid-19) by committing to wearing a mask, staying away from crowded places and permanent sterilization, for the health of our society is a priority and responsibility of each one of us.”
