Public function ensures that the impact of this proposal would be minimal in the Community and is committed to “massive job offers” to face the problem
The announcement that interns who have been in the same position for ten years will have a fixed position without the need for an opposition, one of the main novelties of the royal decree validated on Wednesday by Congress, will have little impact on the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, since there is practically no interim in these circumstances, according to what the general director of Public Function, Carmen María Zamora, told LA VERDAD yesterday.
The calls for stabilization positions aimed at interim staff in 2017 and 2018, some still pending resolution, aim to reduce the temporary employment rate in the Community to 6% and have already managed to eliminate the positions occupied by long-term interim contracts .
Currently, according to the data for April of this year that appear in the Community Transparency Portal, the regional Administration has 21,307 temporary and temporary staff, which represents 36% of the 58,923 public employees who work for the Community . The highest number of interns is in Education, where 7,299 teachers have this condition, to which are added 1,141 non-teaching interns.
According to the data offered by the Transparency Portal, in the Murcian Health Service there are only half a dozen interns, although the temporary statutory staff amounts to 10,038 employees. In the area of administration and services, of the 9,706 employees it has 2,823 are temporary.
The real problem
For the general director of Public Function, the decree on the interim “does not attack the real problem, whose origin is that we cannot summon all the positions that we could, since we are limited by the replacement rate.”
Zamora, who describes as “surprising and very not serious” the announcement of Minister Montero on the ten-year interns, is committed to making “massive job offers” to minimize the problem of temporary employment.
