The local government, formed by the PSOE and IUDM, is “united and strong” and denies tensions between the two parties
«It is completely false that the letter I wrote was against the mayor, because we get along wonderfully. Even so, and despite the criticism and the desire of many to hurt me, I want to announce that I will continue working for my people and I take the opportunity to apologize to my colleagues, ”said the Councilor for Hiring, Tomás Ureña, who appeared in a conference on Tuesday of the press, together with the alderman, the socialist Gaspar Miras, and the leader of the Independent Union of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo.
Ureña registered a letter a week ago in which he charged against the mayor, whom he accused of “lack of transparency.” The independent mayor claimed to be unaware of some municipal negotiations, and regretted “feeling used” in these processes. In addition, he denounced that “I am only counted on to sign the files that are prepared, without explanation or prior information.”
In this regard, Ureña pointed out that “what I intended with the letter is to record that I do not receive information as I should, but I do not blame anyone for that. The mayor and I get along wonderfully, but there are moments of euphoria and warming up, although it was not my intention to generate this controversy.
For his part, the first deputy mayor, the independent Ginés Campillo, remarked that “I differ from Ureña’s letter because I believe there is no lack of information or transparency. Yes, there may be a lack of dialogue; nothing more”. He added that “the PP has taken advantage of my councilor’s letter to try to harm us and thus achieve political advantage. Sometimes, Ureña makes rash decisions, and you always have to meditate ».
Campillo pointed out that he does not always receive information at the hiring tables. “I trust the officials and my colleagues. I think there has been a moment of tension, and now what we have to do is continue working ». He took the opportunity to highlight the “unity” and “strength” between the two parties that make up the local government, “as it cannot be otherwise. Now it’s time to keep working.”
“No one hides”
Finally, the mayor, Gaspar Miras, charged against the PP for “wanting to transfer to the whole world a crisis that does not exist and that began with the letter of the mayor Ureña.” He maintained that “no one has wanted to hide information, as has been wanted to convey to the public. The opposition requests information on files and has the details of everything in a period not exceeding five days. The mayor highlighted the “strengthening” of the government team and the “cordiality” among the councillors.
