On September 30, the first of the quarterly payments agreed by the mayors and the association will be made.
Finally, there is a solution for the debt that the Valle de Ricote Association of Municipalities has held with the Ricote Valley Association of Persons with Disabilities (Adivar) for seven years. After a meeting held at the entity’s headquarters in Villanueva del Río Segura, which was attended by the mayors of Ulea, Víctor López; Ojós, José Emilio Palazón; Villanueva, Jesús Viciana, and Ricote, Rubén Carrasco, and the association’s lawyer, an agreement was reached to satisfy the debt recognized in the final judgment of 2019, issued by the Administrative Contentious Court No. 5 of Murcia, whose principal amounts to the amount of 82,600 euros.
The calendar to pay this amount will begin on September 30, and will continue on December 31, March 31, 2022, June 30, 2022 and September 30, 2022. That is, in one year the debt will be paid.
Regarding the payment of default interest since 2014, which amounts to 36,000 euros, the matter is in the negotiation phase. While Adivar understands that it must be 50% of the legal interest from the issuance of invoices, which represents about 18,000 euros, from the Commonwealth they have proposed that it be a third, that is, about 12,000 euros, as recognized yesterday by the mayors of Ulea and of eyes. In either case, it seems that the payment is guaranteed. Another concept to which both parties have reached an agreement is the payment of the lawyer for the legal services provided, which amounts to 11,000 euros. Thus, the total debt would amount to 111,600 euros if Adivar’s position regarding interest were accepted, and 105,600 euros if the position of the four municipalities were finally to prosper.
Finally, it was agreed that Adivar would have to request the suspension of the execution of the sentence at the moment in which the corresponding first payment was made.
