As you probably remember, at the end of last year the Nintendo Live 2024, an event in Japan that was going to give attendees the opportunity to try multiple games from the company, and take part in Splatoon 3 tournaments, this due to a bomb threat. A couple of months after this event, Kyoto police have arrested the man responsible for this.
According to The Gamer, Local Kyoto police arrested a man in his 20s on April 3which has been identified as the main person responsible for the bomb threats at the Nintendo Live 2024 event. Although at the moment the reason behind this act is unknown, it has been pointed out that the culprit is a local government worker from the Ibaraki Prefecture.
Due to threats, Nintendo had to almost completely cancel its event planned for December last year. This meant that the Splatoon 3 tournament was suspended. However, not everything was discarded, since at the beginning of 2024 the symphony concerts of The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon were published for free on the official YouTube channel of the Japanese company, although without an audience.
We only have to know what kind of consequences the person responsible for the death threats will face.. On related topics, Nintendo has registered a new dock for the Switch. Likewise, the Mario & Luigi series could return in the future.
Editor's Note:
It's a real shame that the event had to be cancelled. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the person responsible is finally behind bars. Let us remember that in Japan these types of threats are common, and although not all of them become a reality, some of these terrible acts are carried out.
