The long one, the height regatta of the 21st Sandberg Palmavela already has new owners. The test of more than 200 miles of travel and that began on Saturday and culminated on Monday after about 40 hours of navigation, gave the trifork winner in real time that crossed the arrival line at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, while the other 34 remaining teams were staggering.
The wind blew from intensities greater than 15 knots in the first hours on the way to the Pitiusas, to a soft breeze in the Cabrera area, where the teams had to make the maximum to reach the last mandatory point in Porto Colom.
In the IRC class, the Trifork (RCNP) stood out with a time of 24 hours, 34 minutes and 52 seconds, which earned the Joern Larsen team the victory both in real time and in compensated time, with an advantage of almost two and a half hours. The second place went to Robert Szustkowski (Polish YC), followed by the Spirit of Lorina by Jean Pierre Barjon (YCF).
In the Orc 0 category, the triumph went to the Azahar de Herve Grunig, which crossed the arrival line in the Bay of Palma shortly after 05:00 hours. The boat achieved a 25 -minute advantage over the Blue Vision of Ersu Enis (Puerto Portals), completing the podium El Caveman IV of Frans Van Dijk (CRCN).
The ORC 1 division was more at odd, with the Xummer of Ruud van is (Bruinisse) taking the victory for only 16 minutes over Robert in Den Haak’s slope. The third place was for the aviator of Gabriel Medem (RCM Sotogrande).
Among those who had to complete the tour of 185 miles, the joy of Pit Fins (DyC) took the victory in the ORC 2-3 class, followed by the Gudrun VIII of Diego Colón (RCNP) and the Kine of Seac McCarter.
In Orc 4-5, Pedro Siquer’s indigo was proclaimed winner, ending with a quarter time with respect to Jaime Morell’s mestral mestral (RCNP), but ensuring the victory after time compensation.
Finally, in division A2 0-2, the Felix Comas (CN Santa Ponsa) modul took the first place, followed by the Tito Moure Samerit (CV Blanes) and the HM HM Hospitals-Hyatt by Óscar Chaves (CN El Balís). In A2 3-5, the Guaguanco IV of Thierry Lallemand (CN Altea) was imposed, completing the podium the Yellow Rose of Marten Jan Ringers (YV Scheveningen) and the diabolic of Glenn de Brouwer (Royal Belgian SC).
