These are the places where the story of the origin of the Targaryens has been filmed
After the criticized end of one of the most watched series in history, Westeros has returned to the screens. The ‘Game of Thrones’ series, inspired by the novels by George RR Martin, was a real revolution for lovers of fiction. On August 22, the first chapter of ‘The House of the Dragon’, the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’, premiered on HBO. This new series will focus on the Targaryen family, the ancestors of the famous mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen.

1. The castle of Calahorra (Granada)
Castles are a setting that appears a lot in this type of series inspired by the medieval world. In ‘The house of the dragon’ an imposing fortress appears, the castle of Calahorra located in the province of Granada. This castle is located on a hill over 1,000 meters high that has been used to shoot interior and exterior scenes.
2. Lloret de Mar (Girona)
Some scenes from ‘The House of the Dragon’ have also been recorded in Catalonia. Specifically in Lloret de Mar located in the province of Girona. Already in ‘Game of thrones’ the city served to set the scenes located in the fictional city of Braavos. In this prequel Lloret de Mar has been the place chosen to shoot some of the moments of the series. 3. Trujillo (Extremadura)
The town of Trujillo already appeared in ‘Game of Thrones’ when the Lannister family invaded the fortress of Altojardín.
