Both join the rest of the directors that we already know, but we do not know which episodes they will direct.
The HBO series inspired by The Last of Us has just added to two directors new, joining the list of already known, such as Kantemir Balagov and Neil Druckmann. Thanks to an update within the DGC portal, we know that Lisa Johnson (dead to me) and Jeremy Webb (The Umbrella Academy) will participate in the series, although we do not know the episodes in which they will work.
The series already has several directors in its castTaking a look at the updated list, we can clearly see the names of both people inside the directors section, so there is no doubt about the role they will take in this new production. As we already mentioned, Jeremy Webb is known for The Umbrella Academy series, but he has other well-known names in his filmography, such as Altered Carbon and The Punisher.
Liza Johnson, for her part, has worked as a director, producer and screenwriter for more than 20 years. In addition to the Dead to Me series, she is recognized for directing some episodes of productions such as Silicon Valley, American Horror Story, and Physical.
At the moment, we do not know what stage of production the series is in, because although we know that Neil Druckmann finished his job as director and returned to Naughty Dog, the rest of the directors have not been so forthcoming.
Recently, actress Storm Reid was confirmed as Riley, Ellie’s friend in the episode Left Behind. Others key characters within the story of the first video game, such as Tommy and Tess, will also appear in the series, however, some sections of the plot of the Naughty Dog game will change for this production.
