The file size of The Last of Us Part 1 have been revealed and the game seems to have a pretty hefty download compared to the remaster.
Naughty Dog is working on the upcoming remake of The Last of Us Part 1. As this is a complete overhaul, many were expecting a substantial increase in file size. This was also the case for The Last of Us Part 2, which reached 72.95 GB at launch.
It turns out that The Last of Us Part 1 is almost similar in size, although it doesn’t have the same scope as the sequel. We can confirm that the game file size is at least 79 GB. This is the minimum file size that has been indicated for the game. This means that, unless patched on day one, The Last of Us Part 1’s file size will be less than 80GB.
Seeing the size of the remaster file without updates, the size is about 40.55GB. It is possible that post-game updates, including the one that added support for a higher frame rate, have increased the file size.
Unfortunately, there will be no multiplayer in this game, so if you were hoping to spend some time on Factions, it won’t. Naughty Dog is working on a larger version of Factions multiplayer, set to launch in 2023.
When installing the game, you need to make sure you have at least 80GB of disk space available. The TLOU remake will be available on September 2nd on PS5. The PC version will be launched later.
