What’s new in The Last of Us Part 1
If you are not familiar with the saga of The Last of Us and are not clear on the differences between the original game, the remaster for PS4 and the remake for PS5 now on offer, it’s easy to say. This version offers completely recreated graphics to take advantage of the latest technologies, faster loading thanks to the SSD, support for 3D audio and the unique functions of the DualSense controller, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
However, it doesn’t change plot, who takes us on a journey across the United States as Joel, a survivor who must watch over young Ellie. The world has been invaded by a fungal infection that has transformed most humans into zombie-like creatures, but Ellie is immune, so the pair tries to get to a place where they could create a cure. The story of the game is top notch and an HBO TV series has even been created based on the video game (there is currently only one season available, with the second in production)
In terms of gameplay, we are talking about a third-person action game with survival mechanics. Joel must count every bullet to avoid running out, scavenge for resources to create improvised weapons and use stealth to get the better of enemies, whether human or infected.
