Filming of the HBO television series based on The Last of Us, the videogame work by PlayStation and Naughty Dog, seems to have finally begun, as suggested by a recent photo.
In recent weeks, some rumors suggested that production on the show would begin in July, which given the recent developments has actually come true.
Confirmation of the start of production of The Last of Us comes straight from one of the show’s actors. Gabriel Luna, who will play Tommy, the brother of Joel’s character (Pedro Pascal), posted a photo of himself and Pascal on Instagram.
The photo in question also showed Nico Parker, who was just announced earlier this week as playing Sarah. “I already love these people“Wrote Luna in the caption of the image. He also added the hashtag “#MillerTime” to the post to indicate the surname of the characters who will play the three actors in the photo.
From this first image it is possible to guess which sequence the three actors are shooting. Pascal, Luna and Parker they are all seen sitting in the car and for those who know the title released on PlayStation 3 in 2013 will know that the prologue presented an important scene where the three are right in the car.
If so, then this television adaptation noshouldn’t stray too far from the source material, at least as far as the early stages of history are concerned.
At the moment, HBO has not announced when the series of The Last of Us will debut on the small screen. With filming just starting, however, it seems likely a possible release in 2022.
The first season should focus mainly on faithfully reproducing the “philosophical bases of history “, which according to the co-president of Naughty Dog was the most important thing to do. The pilot episode will be directed by Kantemir Balagov, while other directors such as Ali Abbas and Jasmila Žbanić sio will deal with other episodes.
