Jeffrey Wright, known for his roles in American Fiction, Westworld, and The French Dispatch, joins the cast of the second season of The Last of Us. Wright will play Isaac, the leader of a large militia group who, while seeking freedom, finds himself mired in an endless war against a very ingenious enemy. Wright had already played Isaac in the video game The Last of Us Part II.

We will meet again in the cast of the second season Pedro Pascal as Joel, Beautiful Ramsey like Ellie, Gabriel Luna like Tommy and Rutina Wesley as Mary. New cast members previously announced include Kaitlyn Dever as AbbyIsabela Merced as DinaYoung Mazino as JesseAriela Barer as MelTati Gabrielle as NoraSpencer Lord as Owen and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara will guest star.
The Last of Us is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin And Neil Druckmann. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and also features Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan and Evan Wells among the executive producers. The production companies involved are PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint and Naughty Dog.

Based on the acclaimed video game developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation consoles, the story takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joela survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14 year old girl, outside an oppressive quarantine zone. What begins as a small job soon becomes a brutal and harrowing journey, as both must cross the United States and depend on each other to survive.
