It is a project of Reception for Families of Ukraine, which is developed jointly with the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration
The »la Caixa» Foundation has received more than 600 requests from Spanish families for the reception of refugees on the first day of operation of the Ukraine Family Reception Project, which is carried out jointly with the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
The applications of the families will be evaluated by the Technical Reception Offices of the »la Caixa» Foundation, 18 in total, located in Madrid (6), Barcelona (6), Málaga (3) and Murcia (3). Its objective is to assess the suitability of the foster family and facilitate the connection with the different official territorial reception devices. These offices are made up of a total of 75 professionals from different social entities, specialists in family intervention, who are part of the CaixaProinfancia programme.
Spanish families interested in welcoming Ukrainian refugee families can call 900 67 09 09, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday.
This project allows you to activate, receive and manage foster care requests from Spanish families for a period of between six months and one year. The »la Caixa» Foundation will assess the number of people they can accommodate, the characteristics of the home and the time period in which they can commit to maintaining the reception, among other requirements.
The “la Caixa” Foundation plans to allocate an investment of 2.5 million euros to the start-up and development of the initiative over the next year.
