A significant package of documents has been prepared for signing during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev. On Thursday, November 18, reports press service The Kremlin.
“A significant package of bilateral documents has been prepared for signing. The Forum of Interregional Cooperation, the Russian-Uzbek Educational Forum and the Russian-Uzbek Media Forum were held on November 16-18, ”the publication says.
It is also noted that during the negotiations, which are scheduled for November 19, the parties will discuss key issues of further development of Russian-Uzbek relations, topical international and regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan.
Earlier, on October 25, the Russian leader congratulated Mirziyoyev on his victory in the presidential elections in Uzbekistan. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to the further development of relations between states.
In one of their telephone conversations last December, the leaders confirmed the desire of the two countries to strengthen relations of alliance and strategic partnership. Then the head of the Russian state also highly appreciated the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the CIS in 2020.
