The national jiu-jitsu team continues its preparations for the sixth edition of the Asian Championship, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in Manama from March 28 to 31, with the participation of elite teams from the continent, as the people of the Emirates are keen to continue their honorable record in the tournament and maintain the title.
The Brazilian coach Ramon Lemos, coach of our national team, expressed his full confidence in the ability of the stars of the national team to compete strongly in the tournament, in light of the full support of the technical staff, training centers, nutritional programs and diligent follow-up by the Board of Directors of the Federation.
Lemos indicated that the team is currently undergoing the second phase of preparations, which began with a training camp on February 21, in order to participate in the Asian Championship, which begins three weeks later, stressing the importance of this stage of the preparatory camp in putting the final touches, plans and tactics that the players will be armed with during the contest. Fighting, and benefiting from past experiences to provide a performance worthy of the great hopes placed on this generation of champions.
Lemos said: “We clearly see the extent of the development of the national team from one tournament to another, and we are keen, through participating in the tournament, to push a balanced squad that combines young people and experience of owners of different belts and weights, knowing that this team is able to compete in the present and the future, in light of the Federation’s vision. Which is based on building a generation capable of shining in various continental and global forums for years to come.
Lemos said: “In addition to our black belt champions, the team includes a group of players from the brown and purple belts, and we aim through the course of the tournament to confirm that this category of players is able to keep pace with their counterparts from the black belt campaign, and outperform them thanks to the quality and efficiency that they enjoy.” Emirates players.
The coach explained that the team succeeded in enhancing its prestige on the continent after its exceptional performance in the fifth edition of the Asian Championship in Abu Dhabi in November 2021, and it is natural that the goal is to preserve the title.
Lemos praised the performance of the women’s team and its continuous development under the leadership and supervision of coach Polyana Lago, pointing out their ability to compete until the last meters and to repeat the achievements of the past period.
Lemos commented on the strength of the competition in the upcoming Asian Championship, especially that all participating teams aspire to score good results, which will double the responsibility placed on the shoulders of the UAE champions to prepare to deal professionally with all challenges and overcome them.
