Based on reports of deteriorating well-being of fifth-graders from secondary school No. 71 in Penza after visiting the pool, an inspection will be organized, the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation reported on April 4.
“An inspection of the scene was carried out, during which water samples were taken from the pool, students and teaching staff of the school were interviewed. Based on the results of the inspection, the investigator will make a procedural decision,” the department’s Telegram channel said.
According to the city’s Ministry of Health, seven children who visited the pool turned to doctors on April 4. Everyone complained of headache, weakness and other symptoms
“The children were examined, examined, six of them were sent home. One child was hospitalized with surgical pathology. Poisoning with a chlorine-containing substance is not confirmed at the moment; diagnoses were made only based on anamnestic data, that is, from the words of those who sought medical help,” the department clarified.
In February, it was reported that 23 schoolchildren were poisoned by unidentified toxic substances near Kaliningrad. According to the Investigative Committee, in the morning after the assembly at school, schoolchildren complained of a deterioration in their condition. The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered the initiation of a criminal case after the schoolchildren were sent to the village of Bolshakovo. It was noted that the poisoning was caused by the use of an antiseptic. According to Izvestia’s source, children’s hands were disinfected upon entering the school, and an aerosol cloud was formed due to the use of a container with a spray bottle.
