Following the start of Russian operations in Ukraine, announced by President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian government officials declared that the Russian invasion of their country has already begun.
The statement was made by Anton Gerashchenko, advisor to the Minister of the Interior in Ukraine, who stated that the invasion has already started with several missile attacks on Kiev and other cities in the country.
Gerashchenko wrote on his official Facebook account: “The invasion has begun.
There have just been missiles at the military headquarters, airports, military warehouses, near Kiev, Kharkov and Dnieper. The border shots are on“.
The official detailed the explosions that have occurred after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced “the beginning of a military operation in eastern Ukraine to protect people from abuse and genocide by the Ukrainian government.”

Furthermore, he stated thatA new geopolitical reality will start with the attacks on his country.
“A new geopolitical reality in the world from today. Either Ukraine and the world will stop the new Hitler now or there will be a third world war,” Gerashchenko wrote on his Facebook account.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “military operation” in Ukraine and urged that country’s soldiers to lay down their weapons, defying global calls to avoid war.
“I have made the decision of a military operation,” Putin declared in an unexpected television message shortly before 6 am local time, after denouncing a “genocide” orchestrated by Ukraine in the east of the country.

In the message he promised retaliation against those who interfere in the Russian operation in Ukraine, and called on the soldiers of the neighboring country to lay down their weapons.
After the explosions heard in the last few minutes, Ukraine made the determination to close its airspace to civil aviationaccording to the Ministry of Infrastructure.
The ministry said the airspace was closed “because of the high security risk”, stopping civilian traffic shortly after midnight.
