The former Ukrainian prime minister gave an interview to France 24 from Kiev. Tymoshenko assured that Russian President Vladimir Putin “will use all his possibilities” to achieve victory in Ukraine, including plans to attack nuclear power plants, for which he calls on the whole world to “defend against terrorism”.
Yulia Tymoshenko thanks “the whole world for its support and sanctions against Putin”, but warns that “if Putin’s Army intends to bomb our nuclear power plants, it will undoubtedly be a tragedy for the entire continent”. The Ukrainian nuclear fleet consists of four power plants, equipped with 15 reactors.
The former Ukrainian prime minister urges the international community and NATO to “close Ukrainian airspace” to protect it from any Russian intrusion and calls on UN peacekeepers to accompany the Ukrainians.
The Russian intervention, says Timoshenko, not only represents a “threat” for Ukraine, but for “Europe and the world”.
