The technicians take samples in the area between Estrella de Mar and the Los Alcázares Yacht Club
Technicians from the Murcian Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Research and Development (Imida) have detected “acceptable” oxygen values in the 31 points analyzed this Monday in the Mar Menor, according to sources from the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Environment and Emergencies.
Specifically, Community staff went out this Monday morning to measure in the area between Estrella de Mar and the Los Alcázares Yacht Club. Of the 31 points analyzed, none were detected with values below 4 milligrams per liter (the barrier from which it is called hypoxia). The average oxygen level in the analyzed area is 6.38 milligrams per liter.
The regional government affirmed that it continues with the continuous work of removing biomass through about 100 operators on land and about 50 fishermen who contribute to the removal in the interior of the water. No anomalies were observed in the rest of the Mar Menor areas, according to the same sources.
