Alfonso Torres opens his gastronomic center in a massive way at the Alfonso XII Pier, which creates 70 jobs and aspires to be a national benchmark
In the kitchens, chef Joaquín Gabarró supervised each dish prepared by his team made up of more than twenty chefs; at the Levante brewery, the waiters were finalizing the assembly of the tables and bars; at the Trips nightclub, the sound technicians checked that everything was ready; in the upper restaurant, the room managers finished organizing the room; and in the Terraza Club, the workers finished installing the umbrellas. The rhythm in the gastronomic complex of Muelle Alfonso XII, Alviento, was frantic yesterday. More than a hundred employees worked at full capacity at noon to get everything ready for the grand opening of the project by businessman Alfonso Torres, called to be a benchmark not only in Cartagena, but also nationwide.
Alviento takes flight today with the impetus of the more than 1,400 guests who will attend the opening ceremony at nine o’clock at night. Among them will be the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, the mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, and a large part of the municipal corporation.
Attendees will enjoy a cocktail and a concert and will be able to visit each of the rooms that make up the hotel complex, where seventy people will work from tomorrow. It will open every day of the year from morning until dawn. The restaurant located at the top will be closed on Mondays.
The building has three tanks with 3,000 liters of beer, which will be distributed to the rest of the facilities through a centralized system
concerts and shows
In the lower part of the building is the brewery that bears the Estrella de Levante seal. In this area there is a beer distribution center for the entire building, with three tanks that hold 3,000 liters. This room opens onto the port with a large garden terrace, where there is another restaurant. It will also serve as a multipurpose room for celebrations and events. In this same area, but facing Paseo Alfonso XII, there is an ice cream parlor, which will supply products from José Manuel Miquel, manager of the company La Natura de La Unión.
Also downstairs is the Trips nightclub, which seats seven hundred people. It is designed to host concerts and shows overlooking the sea. With an investment of four million euros, Torres intends to launch a restaurant with local and regional cuisine and a terrace “to enjoy the afternoon and the sunsets,” the businessman told LA TRUTH.
His intention is for the building to be “a gastronomic, cultural and leisure benchmark” and attract customers not only from the municipality, but also from the rest of the Region and beyond.
