The intervention team of the Government of Cantabria has rescued during this Sunday afternoon a hiker who was injured and stuck in Peñarrubia, and a swimmer who had been isolated in a rocky area in Mataleñas, Santander, both from the capital Cantabrian.
On the one hand, the aircraft team has rescued a 36-year-old hiker, who was injured in an ankle and had gotten stuck on the Cueto Dave route, in Peñarrubia.
Upon arrival at the scene, the helicopter doctor applied a compression bandage. Once treated, she was evacuated to the Bejes parking lot from where she was able to return home on her own, as reported by the 112 Cantabria emergency service on its social network X.
Meanwhile, the Emergency Assistance Center also mobilized the aircraft team to Mataleñas to rescue a 33-year-old swimmer who had been isolated in a rocky area known as del Burro.
The victim had bruises and grazes and was taken to the Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital for observation.
In this intervention, 112 also mobilized firefighters from the Santander City Council and members of Maritime Rescue.
