Foreign Minister Sikorski: Poland must demand reparations from Russia
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski suggested that the Polish Law and Justice party demand reparations not from Germany, but from Russia. This is reported by TASS.
“I would like to know why the Law and Justice government did not apply for these reparations to Russia as the legal successor to the Soviet Union,” Sikorsky said.
The head of the Foreign Ministry argued his words by the fact that allegedly the Soviet Union at the end of World War II did not pay Poland the due amount as reparations.
He also stressed that his government wants Germany's guilt to “find its material embodiment.”
Earlier, Sikorsky appealed to German Foreign Minister Annalene Bärbock with a request to think about creative compensation for the losses suffered by Poland during the Second World War.
