Significant stocks of medicines have been formed in Russia. To date, the situation with drugs in the country is stable. This was stated on March 4 by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko during a meeting on the provision of medicines and medical products during the period of sanctions.
“In terms of federal centralized procurement, 85% of the annual volume of medicines has been contracted. For a number of drugs, we previously switched to concluding two-three-year contracts, which gives confidence in the stability of supplies. Large stocks are already in the warehouses of distributors,” Murashko said.
He also noted that to date there have been no statements about possible restrictions on the supply of medicines from abroad.
On March 2, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation also assured that Russia has a sufficient supply of drugs, including drugs from the list of vital and essential drugs (VED). The stability of the situation with the number of medicines in the country was largely facilitated by the “antique” experience of the pharmaceutical industry.
On March 1, the director of the SRO Association of Independent Pharmacies, head of the Alliance of Pharmaceutical Associations, Victoria Presnyakova, told Izvestia that wholesalers had raised purchase prices for pharmacies from 1.5% to 25%, depending on the region. At the same time, according to her, growth is observed both for imported and domestic drugs. Prices for vital and essential drugs (VED), which make up about half of the market, remain unchanged, Presnyakova said.
