On the liberated to date, about 20% of the territory of the Kharkiv region continues to be tense. This was announced on July 6 by the head of the temporary civil administration (CAA) of the region Vitaly Ganchev.
As the head of the CAA noted, many settlements are constantly under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Also, according to him, the danger of the work of sabotage groups remains.
“I can say that the situation remains tense, especially on the line of contact. There are many settlements that are subjected to constant shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Naturally, there is a danger for the residents who live there,” the official said.
Ganchev also commented on the creation of a dual-currency system in the liberated territories of the Kharkov region. According to him, now “the ruble is on par with the hryvnia” at the rate of 1:1.5.
“As for the ruble as a currency, since June 25 we have set the hryvnia to ruble exchange rate of 1 to 1.5, it was my decree that the ruble circulates along with the hryvnia, that is, a bi-currency system has been introduced and all enterprises of trade, industry, everyone is focused on using the ruble,” he said.
The hryvnia will be forced out over time, the head of the CAA noted. He explained that this is a natural process, since there is no currency coming from Ukraine, and even if people receive hryvnias on cards, they cannot cash them anywhere.
“In any case, of course, there is already a complete understanding here that our Russian ruble will be fully introduced here over time as a single currency, but for now, of course, a dual-currency system is being introduced, along with the hryvnia, the ruble goes the same way,” Ganchev said. .
