Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Anthony Blinken, who is visiting the country.
During the meeting, which took place at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness discussed with the US Secretary of State the relations of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, and ways to enhance them in various fields, in order to achieve their mutual interests.
The meeting also touched on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, developments in the Middle East region, especially developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, and the dangerous repercussions of the crisis in the Gaza Strip on peace, stability and security in the entire region.
His Highness the President stressed the necessity of working to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, to protect the lives of civilians, and to ensure the provision of permanent and safe mechanisms to deliver humanitarian relief aid to the residents of the Strip without obstruction, and to prevent their displacement.
The two sides stressed the importance of working to avoid the expansion of the conflict in a way that threatens regional peace, as well as creating a clear horizon for comprehensive and lasting peace in the region, as it is the way to achieve regional stability.
