During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the President of Serbia reviewed the development of the strategic partnership, especially in the investment, economic and trade fields, in addition to technology, food security, renewable energy and other various cooperation opportunities in the two countries.
The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, stressing in this context the necessity of working to find peaceful solutions to the various crises witnessed in many regions of the world that hinder the achievement of development and prosperity at the regional and global levels.
His Highness the President said that the UAE believes in the importance of cooperation and dialogue to resolve disputes peacefully for the benefit of all peoples of the world, stressing that the UAE supports peace and stability in the Balkan region and attaches great importance to the relationship with its countries, especially the Republic of Serbia.
His Highness added that the UAE-Serbian relations are growing and have witnessed a major qualitative leap following the signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
His Highness also stressed that the UAE believes in the close connection between development and achieving peace, stability and cooperation in the countries of the world, and that economic, investment and trade cooperation between countries is the natural path that is important to follow for the sake of a better future for people in all parts of the world.
His Highness said: The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement represents a major and qualitative step that enhances economic cooperation between the two countries, whether at the governmental level or at the private sector level, and increases the rates of trade and investment between them. His Highness pointed out that Serbia’s accession to the UAE Economic Partnerships Program expresses mutual awareness.
