The British media leaves the social network for ideological reasons: “The content found there is disturbing, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism”
The British newspaper ‘The Guardian’ will stop publishing content on the social network X after Donald Trump has included Elon Musk in his closest team. Specifically, the richest man in the world will direct, together with Vivek Ramaswamy, the Department of Government Efficiency.
These latest news have led the aforementioned media to abandon the social network owned by Musk. “We believe that the benefits of being in X now are outweighed by the negative aspects and that resources could be better used to promote our journalism elsewhereyes», they have reported.
It’s a decision, they say, they’ve been considering for a while “given the often disturbing content that is promoted or found on the platform, including theories of far-right conspiracy and racism. The US presidential election campaign, they conclude, would have only served to underline “that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use his influence to shape political discourse.”
However, ‘The Guardian’ will allow users of the old Twitter to share their articles.
