Inspired by this TikTokster who traded in a hairpin for a house in a year and a half, we also go on an exchange trip with Motorcyclist. Editor-in-chief Pieter, tour man Bart and editor-in-chief Sarah try to first end with ‘something that drives’ (or at least can be made driving again with a minimum of effort) – and then we are of course talking about ‘something with two wheels and an engine ‘. We start with these items…
Pieter Ryckaert – Ducati pizza plate
I got a pretty exclusive Ducati pizza plate to trade, at a Ducati press presentation – although I can’t remember which one myself. If someone wants to trade that for other motorcycle related stuff (a 1976 Ducati 900SS would be nice, but it can also be less direct), I’d love to hear it at [email protected].
Bart de Schampheleire – Ducati belt
On sale: a Ducati ‘Cintura Historical’ that I once received as a gift at the presentation of the Ducati Monster 696, but never wore because of too long and not at all my style – as far as I have style. The ‘Monster 696’ letters have been pasted onto the beautiful brushed aluminum storage box by the Ducati marketing department in a preschool way, so if you don’t like them, you can easily remove them again. Whoever wants it and has something beautiful in return: bring it on: [email protected]
Sarah Van de Mosselaer – MotoGP paddock pass Assen 2008
I deliberately chose something that is basically worthless, but has great emotional value for me: a paddock pass for the 2008 Asser TT. You can read the full story behind it in my Garage in the upcoming March issue of Motorcyclist, but those in the know know that that was the day Edwards took revenge on Hayden for the 2006 Dutch TT… The end goal of our swap is something that (almost) drives, so whoever wants to set me on my way and receive this paddock pass-with-history in return, one address: [email protected]
