The Government extends the mortgage aid that it approved in 2022 for three more years as a result of the rise in the Euribor due to the increase in interest rates. This is reflected in the decree that the Executive now approves to address the DANA disaster and that La Moncloa has taken advantage of to include this modification, which was pending.
At the end of the year, mortgage aid to families at risk of vulnerability declined as configured. The Government’s intention was to extend this aid, configured through the so-called codes of good banking practices. But instead of betting on an extension from year to year, the Executive chooses to extend the aid for three more years. Likewise, this aid has a particularity for those affected by DANA, who will be able to benefit from it for another half year.
Mortgage aid covers households with an annual income of up to 38,000 euros, as a general rule, and is varied. There is the suspension of all early repayment and conversion fees at fixed and mixed rates; the freezing of the interest rate for 12 months, that is, the freezing of the installment during that period; the extension of the repayment period of up to 7 years; and for families with low incomes the grace period of 2 years.
