The Council of Ministers will approve the suspension of the second payment of Personal Income Tax 2023 for taxpayers in the province of Valencia, the region most affected by the recent DANA on October 29. This measure, proposed by the Ministry of Finance and supported by the first vice president Maria Jesus Monteroseeks to alleviate economic pressure on those who have suffered serious personal and material damage.
The rule, which will affect 200,000 taxpayers, will include a provision so that those who opted for payment in two installments and have already paid the second receive a refund in the shortest time possible. The Treasury assures that this refund will be made quickly for those who have already been charged by the banking entities.
To facilitate the implementation of this measure, the Tax Agency (AEAT) has informed the banks to stop the collections scheduled for the second installment of personal income tax of the taxpayers affected in Valenciainitially scheduled for November 5.
This suspension of personal income tax is added to other Government measures to support the DANA victimsone of the most severe weather events in recent yearswhich has left a strong impact on the region. The intention is to mitigate the economic consequences of this natural disaster.
Furthermore, the Special Delegation of the AEAT in the Valencian Country will establish a special point of attention to respond to the information and advice needs of affected tax professionals. It will also offer an exclusive contact number and email so that they can resolve questions and manage their procedures directly.
