The Government blocks the Ayuda Valencia website due to signs of fraud

This Friday, the Government suspended the web domain Ayudavalencia.es at the request of the National Police, which has detected signs of fraud. This is one of the pages that was receiving donations that were supposedly aimed at collaborating in the recovery of the catastrophe left in its wake by DANA.

“The action has been initiated as a matter of urgency, after receiving, from the Valencia Provincial Information Brigade of the National Police, a complaint about requests from this website for fraudulent donations of financial aid, through the bitcoin cryptocurrency, for the affected by DANA in the Valencian Community”, reported Red.es, the public company that manages .es domains, dependent on the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The statement does not inform of the people who may have been affected, although the police investigation is ongoing. The Government has recommended citizens “to verify the aid channels that are being launched to collaborate in the reconstruction of the areas affected by DANA”, especially in the cases of financial donations.
