In the BOE document it was already pointed out that energy connections remain critical infrastructure and that the level of interconnection with neighboring countries “is far from achieving the fixed objective of 10%”
The government has not reviewed one of the most important matters: the energy crises. The document that determines the steps that the Executive has to follow in extreme cases of national security has been expired since 2015 and had to be approved in 2020 with a resolution published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), however after five years of delays it still does not occur.
The National Security Council approved on October 6, 2020 a resolution to create a new national energy security strategy to “diversify energy sources, guarantee the security of transport and supply and promote energy sustainability.”
The BOE document has already pointed out that energy connections remain critical infrastructure and that the level of interconnection with neighboring countries “is far from reaching the fixed objective of 10% in the year 2020.” To move forward, this plan must make an economic effort because in a strong context “penetration of renewables and increasing electrification of the economy” the monitoring, control and automation systems must be digitized.
