Not just the tv series on Loki, but this summer on Disney + we will have even more of the god of deception: it has been officially announced The Good, The Bart and the Loki, the new short film de The Simpsons which will see a new crossover with the movies of Marvel Studios.
It will be available on the streaming platform of the Mickey Mouse House starting Wednesday 7 July and will see a somewhat bizarre story. Loki has been banished from Asgard again and, finding himself in Springfield, he will have to face the most powerful heroes of the city (wink to the classic tagline of the Avengers comics “the mightiest heroes on earth“). To deal with this threat, the god of deception will form an alliance with an unlikely ally: Bart Simpson.
It is certainly not the first time that we have seen the young man from Springfield entangled with superhero business. One we remember very cheerfully is Bartman, his alter-ego who takes inspiration from the DC comic book character of the same name. It will be curious to see how his interaction with the god will be, if the latter will have to persuade him to ally with him or if Bart will accept immediately given his often rebellious character towards the family.
Tom Hiddleston will once again return to voice Loki in the Disney + short and it has been confirmed that he will face many of the fan favorite characters of The Simpsons revisited in a Marvel key. The announcement is also accompanied by the official promotional poster of the short film, which refers to the poster of the film Avengers Endgame. You can see it below and if you notice there is an interesting detail that could make fans speculate.
As we can see, many characters from the city of Springfield are represented with the costumes of the protagonists of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if you pay attention you can notice … that there are no Homer, Marge and Maggie! Could this be due to a plot gimmick that Loki himself is involved in? We’ll see.
The Good, The Bart and the Loki it will certainly not be the first Simpson crossover based on other media, but this is the second in a series of short films in which homage is paid to other brands and titles on the streaming platform. The previous short was based on Star Wars starring Maggie Simpson from the title The awakening of the Force after the rest, which is currently available on Disney +. We also remind you that the TV series on Loki is currently in progress, with each new episode coming out on Wednesday.
