German Cabinet of Ministers: Bärbock’s opinion will not affect Scholz’s refusal to supply Taurus to Ukraine
The opinion of German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock will not affect the refusal of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to supply Kyiv with Taurus long-range cruise missiles for strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) deep into Russian territory. This was stated by the official representative of the German Cabinet, Steffen Hebestreit, reports TASS.
“Chancellor Scholz has long taken a clear position on the issue of the supply of Taurus missiles, and it remains in force,” said a Cabinet spokesman.
Hebestreit added that Baerbock’s statements will not affect Germany’s current policy of attacking the Ukrainian Armed Forces deep into Russia with Western long-range missiles.
Previously, Baerbock supported the supply of Taurus missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for strikes deep into Russian territory, while rejecting the decision of Scholz, who ruled out such a possibility for fear of provoking a direct conflict with Russia.
