The Generalitat Valenciana demands that Robles apologize for his “lack of empathy” with a group of affected citizens

The Generalitat Valenciana has demanded that the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, “rectify and apologize” for the “lack of empathy” shown with a group of citizens affected by the damage in the Valencian town of Paiporta.

Sources from the regional Executive have criticized the “reprehensible attitude” that Robles shows in a conversation about the powers in cleaning private garages with a group of residents of the Valencian town of Paiporta and whose recording has been spread on social networks by the president of the Provincial Council of Valencia, Vicent Mompó.

The tone used by Robles has been criticized by the Valencian administration for “lacking the empathy, solidarity and understanding that is required right now by the Central Administration with the citizens who have suffered the disastrous consequences of the storm of last December 29. October”.

In this sense, he has criticized that this “lack of empathy, understanding and solidarity” shown by the minister “can further deepen the distance between institutions and citizens.” “More so when this reprehensible attitude is shown by the Minister of Defense herself, politically responsible for the Spanish Army”, which they have described as a “key and fundamental” element in the reconstruction process of the Valencian regions affected by the flood.

For this reason, the Generalitat has urged Robles to “rectify this lack of solidarity and intransigent attitude” with this group of people affected by the flood and has asked him to work for the affected people “without excuses, from solidarity, empathy and responsibility.”

The Valencian Executive has reproached that “citizens do not need to be harassed by a minister” and has reiterated that “right now above all they need empathy, to understand them, to put themselves in their situation.” “This is something that it seems that Minister Robles has not understood by showing such an incomprehensible attitude, so lacking in humanity and so rejectable,” he stressed.

In this context, he has insisted on demanding that Robles “rectify and apologize” to this group of citizens of Paiporta, and that he “park and leave aside this type of unsupportive and erratic attitudes that do not contribute anything, but rather harm.” , to the reconstruction process and considers that they also damage the role of the Army.

“Very cowardly”

For his part, the president of the Provincial Council of Valencia, Vicent Mompó, through a message on the social network before the citizens.”

“I don’t know if it’s the accumulated hours or days, but this is unbearable. With that attitude, the best thing would be to stay at home, so as not to send her where any Valencian with a minimum of ‘trellat’ would send her,” he criticized.

Likewise, he has accused Robles of “missing the mark” with the management of the garages and has defended that the Provincial Council has activated an emergency plan with an investment of 6.8 million euros to act in more than 600 private parking lots, which has stressed that they are not the responsibility of the provincial institution.

Finally, Mompó told Robles that the 8,000 soldiers “are not his workers, they are soldiers at the service of all Spaniards.” “Close the door when you leave!” he concluded.
